Theatrical Intimacy for Designers
Theatrical Intimacy for Designers opens up conversations around designers and intimacy with actors in the workplace. The presence of an intimacy director for intimate material for the stage and screen is becoming as common as the necessity of a fight director for physical safety. With the rising presence of intimacy directors in the theatre, the opportunity has arisen for designers to be part of the process around recent protocols and this new and evolving aspect of theatre practice. How can the relationship between designers and actors be part of this aspect of production, and what specific areas do we need to look at in our changing Canadian theatre practice as we embrace a shift towards more inclusive and healthy work environments?
