Professional Development

The ADC’s Assistant Design Program is now CLOSED

We have hit our funding limit. This program is supporting a total of 23 Assistant Designers across Canada.

The ADC’s limited Assistant Designer Program is a national program with a focus on creating opportunities for live performance designers to be assistants with a Designer or with a Theatre Company.

  • Designers and Theatres across the country were encouraged to apply to hire an Assistant Designer.
  • This program provides assistants with $25/hour up to a maximum of $3000 or 120 hours per Assistantship.
  • Priority is given to those assistants who identify as Indigenous, black, person of colour, 2SLGBTQIAP, deaf, persons with disabilities, women, or intersections of any of the above.

This program is funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Canada Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund.
